Description

This course covers chapters 1 to 6 of Harry Percival's "Test Driven Development with Python". You will build a working Django web app from scratch using an incremental TEST, CODE, REFACTOR approach. And you will learn why this approach is the fastest way to write clean code that works.

This is more that just a web development course. We will cover the full software development lifecycle, including such topics as
  • unit testing with the Python "unittest" module
  • functional testing with the Selenium web framework
  • source code control with "git"
At the end of this course you will have a software development roadmap that you can follow on any future projects.

How The Course Is Presented

Google Hangout -- The class meets for one hour each week in a Google Hangout. You can talk live with the instructor and other students, and you will be able to share your desktop with them. NOTE: You will need a webcam and microphone to participate in the class discussions.
PythonAnywhere.com account -- You will use a free PythonAnywhere account and all your work will be done "in the cloud". All the software you need for the course is pre-installed.

Number Of Students

I am limiting the course to a maximum of 6 students.
